Well, this isn't new, but sugar gliders are illegal in California. Honestly, I think that the only reason they are illegal is that people buy them without thinking (because sugar gliders are so adorable:3), and that simply making it so that you must go through something similar to what you have to do with a gun would fix that problem. 3 day waiting period sort of thing... During which, you must learn something about the creatures and at the time of purchase you must pass a test to earn a sort of permit... This permit shouldn't have to be renewed unless you are purchasing another one after 6 months of a previous renewal (taking the test). Sorry, I just had to say that because they are SOOO cute!!!! I've been looking into them for a while, and I believe it would be a good decision to buy one, but then I remembered ferrets... They are illegal as pets in California as well, and so I thought I might as well check if sugar gliders are as well, and guess what I found >: (
